Overview:
We are currently seeking dedicated Packaging Specialists for our operations. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our packaging processes.

ROLE:
As a Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting and packaging products, rotating through various production lines as directed by the Team Leader.

You will work independently while collaborating with line technicians and other team members to ensure that the products meet the quality standards set by the Pactiv Evergreen Quality Department.


Shifts:
Day shifts from 5:20 AM to 5:30 PM or Night shifts from 5:20 PM to 5:30 AM, including three paid breaks.

Compensation:
Weekly pay starting at $18.39 per hour, with an additional $1 per hour for night shifts.

Schedule:

Week 1:
Monday (work), Tuesday (work), Wednesday (OFF), Thursday (OFF), Weekend (work) totaling 48 hours.

Week 2:
Monday (OFF), Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday (work), Thursday (work), Weekend (OFF) totaling 36 hours.

Week 3:
Monday (work), Tuesday (work), Wednesday (OFF), Thursday (OFF), Weekend (work) totaling 48 hours.

Week 4:
Monday (OFF), Tuesday (OFF), Wednesday (work), Thursday (work), Weekend (OFF) totaling 36 hours, and so forth.

Responsibilities:

Key Job Requirements:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming work environment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of products for quality assurance.
  • Ensure that customer specifications are met or exceeded.
  • Assemble and pack boxes with the appropriate products, ensuring no mixing occurs.
  • Meet daily production targets.
  • Accurately label each packed case.
  • Assist with the grinding of scrap materials as needed.
  • Participate in training responsibilities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Candidates will undergo a drug test (excluding THC/marijuana/cannabis) and a background check upon receiving an offer.

  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to identify differences between major and minor defects.

Communication/Teamwork:

  • Knowledge of safe equipment operations.

Quality/Housekeeping:
  • Develop and maintain ISO-compliant processes.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Sort out-of-spec products for regrind.

Product Knowledge:
Knowledge of Pactiv Evergreen products and materials with the ability to differentiate between them.

Training:
Ensure trainees adhere to established procedures in the absence of a trainer.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding specifications, safety issues, and diagrams for proper packaging.

ADA – Essential Functions:
Must be able to:
  • Work 8 or 12-hour shifts, standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Climb as necessary.
  • Respond to safety warnings, devices, and alarms.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Lift, push, pull, grasp, and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Solve problems and establish cause-and-effect relationships in a manufacturing environment.
