Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach 2D and 3D drawing courses at Northern VA Community College. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in drawing from a regionally accredited university or college.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach 2D and 3D drawing courses in-person, late afternoon/evening/weekend classes.
  • Maintain accurate records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of drawing.
Requirements
  • Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in drawing from a regionally accredited university or college.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to use instructional technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fine Arts M.F.A. degree from an accredited university or college and at least 18 graduate credits in the teaching field.
  • Prior experience teaching in higher education.
  • Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.
