Job Summary: Banner Health is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team in the Stroke Unit at Banner University Medical Center Tucson.
About the Role: As a critical care APP, you will be responsible for the clinical management of patients, performance of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, interpretation of diagnostic tests, prescription of medications, and education. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a supportive environment that fosters growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Stroke Unit, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with acute neurological conditions.
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, such as lumbar punctures and EEGs, as needed.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and laboratory results, to inform patient care decisions.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician.
- Provide education to patients and families on disease management and self-care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Current Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant board certification.
- DEA license, BLS, ACLS certification.
- ENLS training is preferred (can be completed within 1 month of hire).
- Experienced and new graduates are encouraged to apply.
