Job Title: Cybersecurity Manager
Job Summary:
The City of Laredo, TX is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Manager to oversee and maintain the city's cybersecurity plans and supervise the staff of the Cybersecurity Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all Cybersecurity projects, security products, and services for the City of Laredo.
- Perform vulnerability scanning and analysis for the City of Laredo, generate cybersecurity assessments, and review them with IST director, the IST assistant director, and fellow IST division managers.
- Develop and review the City's Cybersecurity policies to align with relevant industry frameworks.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff.
- Makes hiring and termination decisions.
- Prioritizes assignments and directs work.
- Develops and oversees employee work schedules and approves time away from work.
- Provides and facilitates employee training and development.
- Approves and/or processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate.
- Completes employee performance appraisals.
- Determines or makes recommendations regarding new hire salaries and salary changes.
- Acts as liaison between employees and management.
- Performs risk assessments and audits to ensure Cybersecurity policies are being adhered to.
- Coordinates investigations of suspected computer misuse with the appropriate data owners, application owners, and documents results of such investigations.
- Participates in disaster recovery exercises and reviews business continuity plans, and recommends updates as needed.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs related work as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Network Administration, or Cybersecurity.
- At least three (3) years of experience in Cyber Security standards and practices, network security, data center, voice and telecommunications and project management.

- CompTIA Security +
- CISCO CCNA
- CISSP
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
