About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Baldwin Health, a 112-bed acute care hospital serving greater coastal Alabama.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of Physicians and Respiratory Directors, perform all respiratory procedures in accordance with NBRC regulations and departmental policies.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities.
  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations, including managing mechanical ventilation and artificial airways in critical and general care areas.
  • Collect and analyze arterial blood gases, administer aerosolized medications, and provide other respiratory treatments as needed.
  • Initiate, monitor, and manage patient oxygen through various devices, including high flow nasal cannula and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.
  • Document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Respiratory Therapist License issued by the State of Alabama
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Life Support (NRP) certifications required
  • Must have strong Level 1 and/or Level 2 NICU experience
