We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Baldwin Health, a 112-bed acute care hospital serving greater coastal Alabama.
Key Responsibilities- Under the direction of Physicians and Respiratory Directors, perform all respiratory procedures in accordance with NBRC regulations and departmental policies.
- Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities.
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations, including managing mechanical ventilation and artificial airways in critical and general care areas.
- Collect and analyze arterial blood gases, administer aerosolized medications, and provide other respiratory treatments as needed.
- Initiate, monitor, and manage patient oxygen through various devices, including high flow nasal cannula and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.
- Document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Respiratory Therapist License issued by the State of Alabama
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Life Support (NRP) certifications required
- Must have strong Level 1 and/or Level 2 NICU experience
