Position Overview
The Operations Project Leader is primarily responsible for guiding multi-functional teams to successfully execute highly complex Operations Continuity (OC) projects. This includes defining, planning, tracking, and managing key project deliverables.

The role involves identifying essential resources and providing the necessary direction to meet project objectives.

Regular updates on project status will be communicated to the respective Business Unit Senior/Project Managers during monthly Portfolio Review/Prioritization meetings.

Additionally, collaboration with the PMO Group Leader will be essential to support and facilitate improvements in PMO processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities


Utilize Project Management tools to lead complex OC projects effectively:

  • Understand the requirements for successful execution of OC projects across various business units.
  • Identify project resource needs and collaborate with PM leadership to ensure adequate support.
  • Ensure all team members comprehend their roles and accept their responsibilities.
  • Create timelines for each project and drive deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Lead weekly multi-functional team meetings to identify and address risks, mitigation plans, issues, and action items.
  • Utilize PM tools to prepare, track, and report on project status, keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Manage changes to maintain business plan commitments and initiate change management reviews as necessary.
  • Conduct Lessons Learned sessions and report key findings to apply insights to future projects.
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of the PMO through input and feedback.
Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree (science preferred, but not required) from an accredited institution.
  • 8+ years of experience in the CPG industry, preferably in Operations or Engineering, with a focus on project management.
  • Experience in OTC or regulated product categories is a plus.
  • PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of projects.
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) with experience presenting to senior management.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Project Management skills (MS Project, Gantt charts, cross-functional leadership).
  • Familiarity with a Stage and Gate product development process is preferred.
  • Experience with FDA regulated products or cGMP is advantageous.
