Position Overview:

The Dietary Cook's Aide plays a crucial role in fostering a positive service environment. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities including the preparation, measurement, cooking, assembly, and serving of meals for patients, staff, and visitors. Adherence to standardized recipes ensures food consistency and compliance with menu guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safe food handling practices and temperature controls.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks for work areas and equipment.
  • Transport meals, equipment, and supplies to designated locations as requested.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in healthcare or hospitality food production.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading and writing English, with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrated culinary skills and knowledge of relevant equipment and standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to electrical, mechanical, and power equipment hazards.
  • Contact with cleaning agents and chemicals.
  • Potential hazards from flammable and explosive gases, as well as burns and cuts.
  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations in a kitchen environment.
