Overview:
The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the upkeep and management of the organization's computer systems, including desktops and peripherals. This role encompasses the imaging, installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and enhancement of all hardware and equipment to ensure peak workstation performance. The technician will address issues in a prompt and precise manner, whether in person, over the phone, or through incident tickets, while providing necessary assistance to end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
* Proficient understanding of software applications, operating systems, hardware components, and networking protocols.
* Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
* Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently.
* Skilled in configuring (imaging) laptops and desktops, including SCCM imaging with thumb drives.
* Capable of repairing and troubleshooting laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and mobile devices owned by the company.
* Resolve Wi-Fi and VPN connectivity challenges.
* Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
* Keen attention to detail.
* Experienced in delivering professional and courteous customer service.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proficient in tools such as Service Now, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
* An associate degree or higher in an IT-related discipline, such as computer science or technical support.
* A+ certification in computer technology is advantageous.
* Previous experience in supporting end-user desktops, laptops, and operating systems or a similar role in an IT environment.
