Job Summary

The Systems Packaging Engineer is responsible for the definition, design, and enhancement of systems, leveraging engineering specialties to develop viable and effective system concepts approved for client implementation.

Your role will involve establishing and outlining the system architecture, creating, testing, deploying, monitoring, managing, and updating SCCM packages. This includes the development, definition, and documentation of essential design features and operational concepts, along with a vision for the system's evolution over time while maintaining the technical baselines of the product.

You will provide recommendations for complex or unclear client challenges and utilize advanced consulting skills to outline the scope and suitable approach for new assignments.


Key Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with SCCM Systems in a professional environment supporting Desktop Engineering functions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with system owners, stakeholders, and clients to define requirements and provide solution recommendations.
  • Experience in Application Packaging, Application Package Testing, Package Deployment, Distribution Point Remediation, Operating System Deployment (OSD), Patch Management, USMT, Asset Intelligence, and Internet-based Client Management.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Orchestrator, Operations Manager, and Service Manager.
  • Technical proficiency in Active Directory, including the creation, testing, and management of Group Policies.
  • Experience in defining and documenting engineering logic for creating, testing, deploying, monitoring, and managing package builds and operating system images.
  • Experience in assessing and testing baseline and application packages, bug fixes, and preparing baselines for field testing.
  • Familiarity with various software packaging programs, programming, and languages.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a technical equivalent with 10 years of professional experience, or a total of 20 years in lieu of education.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Veteran Affairs.
  • Networking skills.
  • Proficiency in SCCM, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), UEFI BIOS, PXE Boot toolset, Imaging processes, and imaging hardware setup.
  • Experience in optimizing imaging packages for custom software loads.
