Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing critical respiratory care to patients, including assessing their condition, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapies as ordered by physicians. You will also be responsible for operating and maintaining respiratory equipment, administering medications, and ensuring accurate documentation of therapies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' respiratory conditions and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
  • Implement therapies such as mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen analyzers, and suctioning equipment
  • Administer medications safely and accurately
  • Ensure accurate documentation of therapies and patient progress
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program
  • Certified Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Connecticut
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications desirable
