Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients' overall health and monitor vital signs and weight.
  • Assist physicians during examinations, diagnostic tests, and treatment procedures.
  • Deliver basic patient care as prescribed.
  • Document all actions, patient/family responses, and medications in the medical record.
  • Encourage wellness by providing educational materials and communicating physician instructions.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols, as well as confidentiality policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment: A combination of office and examination settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other typical clinic conditions.

Physical and Mental Demands: The role involves varied activities, including sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching. The ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and lift 100 pounds is required. Occasional stress may arise from workload demands. Proficiency in using various office equipment, including telephones, writing tools, PCs, faxes, and medical devices such as stethoscopes, EKG machines, and blood pressure cuffs, is necessary.
