Art Education Specialist

Job Summary

This position is responsible for teaching art education to students in a learning environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in art and education, and will be able to effectively communicate artistic concepts to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students in art education using various teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
  • Assign lessons and correct homework, administer tests to evaluate student progress, and issue reports to inform parents of student progress.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment, and supervise student behavior outside of the classroom.
  • Prepare course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences to review student progress, performance, and behavior problems.
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Art Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred.
  • Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 as required by the GaPSC.
  • Field(s)/Endorsement(s): Art Education (P-12).
Work Environment

This position will work in a normal classroom/school setting. The successful candidate must be able to stand and walk approximately seven to seven and a half hours per day, and must be able to lift or carry up to 20 pounds.
