We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children's Hospital of Orange County. As a NICU RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns and their families.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the physician.
- Perform various medical procedures, such as inserting IV lines and administering medications.
- Provide education to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Current RN licensure in the state of California.
- 2+ years of experience in a pediatric ICU or NICU setting.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Experience with Cerner documentation system.
- Knowledge of oscillator vents, conventional vents, bubble CPAP, and NIPPV.
- Ability to work with vents 2-3 shifts per week.
