We are seeking a skilled Butcher Specialist to join our team at Whole Foods Market - Sandy Springs. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest quality products meet our standards.
About the RoleThis role involves cutting, preparing, displaying, and selling meat products to our customers. You will work closely with other team members to maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhere to safety protocols, and promote national, regional, and store programs and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Cut, prepare, and merchandise meat products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry) to meet customer demands.
- Prepare specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats) according to recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain product quality by inspecting items for freshness and adherence to WFM standards.
- Support sampling programs and ensure accurate product information is displayed.
- Monitor and prevent spoilage, maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
- Mentor and assist assigned Meat Cutter Trainees in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Ensure excellent customer service, answering phone calls and pages promptly and courteously.
- Maximize sales potential through effective merchandising and visual display techniques.
- Follow established procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.
- 14+ months retail experience required.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of different cuts and cooking techniques of meat and seafood.
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
$52,000 - $62,000 per year, depending on experience.
