Job Summary

As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating all maintenance activities and modifications on production line equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Training
    • Identify training needs and schedule training to satisfy those needs
    • Promote positive relationships between management and maintenance associates
  • Maintenance Operations
    • Participate in project management activities on production line equipment
    • Meet daily to discuss and resolve production equipment problems
    • Meet as needed to order parts, clarify purchase requisitions, and resolve maintenance budget reporting problems
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure associates under supervision follow corporate safety procedures and comply with PPE requirements
    • Monitor outside service people and contractor activities to ensure safety compliance
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Assign work to mechanics and evaluate their work quality
    • Review equipment manuals and develop preventive maintenance programs
    • Ensure proper sanitation after maintenance on production line equipment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; GED/High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience
  • Advanced technical and working knowledge in maintaining production line equipment
  • Supervision techniques, planning, and scheduling of maintenance work
  • Preventive maintenance techniques and ability to develop programs from vendor manuals
  • Knowledge of operating budgets and analyzing and forecasting variances
  • Knowledge of personal computer spreadsheet software and programs
  • Working knowledge of electrical power distribution and ability to read basic electrical diagrams
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems on production line equipment
  • Knowledge in ammonia refrigeration systems, lubrication requirements, and water treatment methods
  • Knowledge of equipment safety requirements and welding safety practices
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization
  • Knowledge of food safety programs (HACCP, GMPs, Sanitation, Pest Control, Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Organic Guidelines)
Physical Work Environment

This position entails use of ladders and catwalks to reach production equipment, working near moving mechanical parts, and exposure to extreme cold for extended periods. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
