Junior Financial Analyst

ROLE SUMMARY: The Junior Financial Analyst role offers essential support to the Finance Director and Senior Leadership, adhering to established financial protocols. This position collaborates closely with internal financial and programmatic teams, as well as Senior Leadership. The Junior Financial Analyst will be tasked with assisting in internal financial reporting, budget management, compliance with contractual and regulatory standards, funder reporting, audit processes, and ensuring efficient financial operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Gain an understanding of Agency contracts to comprehend their financial stipulations, ensuring adherence and assisting management in necessary actions to maintain compliance with Federal, State, OMB Uniform Guidance regulations, and Agency policies.
2. Oversee and monitor the allocation of staff time to various programs.
3. Compile and prepare monthly, quarterly, and contract closeout reports, along with other documentation required by funders for the Finance Director's review before submission.
4. Prepare and submit contract-related billings to relevant agencies.
5. Analyze financial trends and forecasts, providing recommendations for optimization.
6. Generate and report necessary financial data for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
7. Calculate and record the Agency's quarterly Paid Time Off (PTO) liability in the General Ledger.
8. Participate in annual audits and fiscal monitoring as directed by the Finance Director, including the preparation of financial statements and notes for the Independent Auditor.
9. Respond to inquiries from funding sources.
10. Assist in the preparation and finalization of internal and external budgets in collaboration with program directors, supporting the Finance Director in various aspects of annual budget creation.
11. Support the Finance Director in reviewing and calculating allocations.
12. Assist in the evaluation and calculation of indirect costs and rates.
13. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank and investment accounts, and make necessary adjustments.
14. Collaborate with other financial staff to enhance and document financial processes, sharing knowledge with other departments across the organization.
15. Assist the Finance Director in maintaining strong internal controls over agency assets.
16. Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as required.
17. Perform various fiscal duties, assisting the Finance Director with research, analysis, and special projects.
18. Cross-train with other departmental roles to ensure Fiscal Department efficiency during colleague absences.
19. Supervise the Receptionist as needed.
20. Occasionally participate in various agency committees as a representative of the Fiscal Department.
