Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Lead Cardiovascular Sonographer to join our esteemed Echo Lab team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus.

About the Role

As a Lead Cardiovascular Sonographer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional sonographer oversight, ensuring high-quality studies, and supporting the Echo Lab Supervisor. You will also provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to sonographers, assist with the Inova Cardiology Fellowship Program, and participate in research and education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in echocardiography with experience in Strain, 3D, TEE, and procedures
  • Provide sonographer oversight to ensure high-quality studies
  • Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to sonographers
  • Assist with the Inova Cardiology Fellowship Program
  • Facilitate QI meetings
  • Participate in research and educate team members on protocols
  • Collaborate with Medical Director and Clinical Director to improve quality and processes
  • Assist IAC Technical Director in accreditation
Requirements
  • Certification - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer AARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification or CCI Registered with Certification for Vascular
  • BLS, RCS Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS Upon Start
  • Five years' experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography
