Job Description

Trilliant, a leading provider of universal communications platforms, is seeking a highly skilled Sr. MySQL Database Administrator with expertise in multisite clustering to join our dynamic Global Support team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, managing, maintaining, and optimizing our MySQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role requires a deep understanding of MySQL clustering, replication, backup, and recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases and clustering solutions.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries and indexes.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage database backup and recovery processes.
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Percona Server for MySQL databases using Percona XtraDB Clustering.
  • Database Upgrades and Patches: Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  • Collaboration with Development Teams: Close collaboration with development teams to design, implement database schemas and queries as well as application profiling for optimized DB tuning.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and provide technical support.
  • Database Security: Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Stay up-to-date with the latest MySQL features, best practices, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a (Percona) MySQL Database Administrator with 5 years+ of experience in Multisite Clustering.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of MySQL database architecture, replication, and clustering technologies.
  • Performance Tuning: Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
  • Percona Experience: Must have experience 3+ years of experience with Percona Server for MySQL, Percona XtraDB Cluster, Percona XtraBackup hot backup.
  • Additional Distributions: Additional distributions such as Maria DB or MySQL Enterprise with Galera Cluster or MySQL NDB Cluster desirable.
  • Other Database Technologies: Experience with other database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Orchestrator, ProxySQL, and HAProxy).
  • Scripting Languages: Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
  • Cloud-Based Database Solutions: Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL).
  • DevOps Practices: Understanding of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Backup and Recovery Processes: Proficiency in backup and recovery processes and tools.
  • Database Security Best Practices: Familiarity with database security best practices.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant Certifications: Relevant certifications centric in Percona clustering solutions.
