Job Summary

RUSH University Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Cath Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the Cardiovascular Catheterization Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing age-specific care and assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures. Your expertise in physiologic monitoring, medical instrumentation operation, and radiologic recording will be essential in ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide age-specific care and assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Monitor patient status and condition during procedures
  • Operate and maintain radiographic, fluoroscopic, video, and digital processing equipment
  • Record and document hemodynamic and electrocardiographic measurements
  • Assist with patient transport and final clean up after procedure completion
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director or Clinical Manager
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Formal training in an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Valid ARRT License
  • Valid Illinois Emergency Management Agency License
  • Valid BLS certification; ACLS certification required within six months of hire
  • Able to take call on evenings, nights, and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years' experience as a Cardiac Cath Radiologic Technologist
  • Valid RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certification
Physical Demands
  • Able to stand up to three hours wearing a 40-pound lead apron
  • Able to work in an environment with limited exposure to radiation
  • Able to work in dim light for three or more hours
  • Able to assist in moving patients up to 425 pounds from cart to procedure table
  • Able to manipulate small knobs in limited workspace
  • Able to maneuver around floor and ceiling mounted x-ray equipment
Work Environment

The Cardiovascular Catheterization Unit is a fast-paced environment with a high level of patient acuity. As a Cardiac Cath Radiologic Technologist, you will be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest level of patient care. You will be expected to maintain a safe and organized work environment and assist with the orientation of new staff and students.
