Position Summary:
The Healthcare Access Coordinator plays a vital role in managing Patient Access operations, which encompass facility-based scheduling, pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance, under the guidance of the Supervisor and Revenue Cycle Director.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the accuracy and currency of essential ADT information, including insurance verification and patient demographics, to promote patient safety and billing precision.
2. Complete and document all necessary governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms according to established procedures, ensuring all documents are correctly scanned and saved in the appropriate locations.
3. Utilize price estimation tools, when applicable, during the registration process to provide patients with the most accurate cost estimates.
4. Achieve departmental targets for upfront collections, including deposits, estimated amounts due, co-pays, and prior balances.
5. Actively engage in departmental quality assurance by utilizing system work queues, striving to minimize individual errors, and making necessary corrections.
Additional Information:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Arts/Business preferred.
- Completion of EPIC Cadence and Prelude training is mandatory, with successful exam completion.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
