Job Title: Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting the Home Study (HS) and Post Release Services (PRS) department, providing culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate clinical case management services to unaccompanied children and their sponsors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized needs assessments and develop case plans with unaccompanied children and their sponsors, taking into account their cultural, linguistic, and special circumstances.
  • Conduct brief clinical interventions to help families address crises and manage conflict, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of client interactions and case progress, adhering to USCRI and ORR policies and procedures.
  • Build a network of local pro bono legal resources and service providers to facilitate access for unaccompanied children and their sponsors.
  • Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders, including supervisors, headquarters staff, and community partners.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science, with at least three years of progressive experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least five years of clinical experience.
  • Graduate level licensure (LMSW/LGSW) is preferred.
  • At least one year of direct clinical experience, with a focus on child welfare, child placements, family preservation, behavioral health counseling, and social service provision.
  • Knowledge of trauma-responsive service provision and crisis intervention skills.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required, with proficiency in additional languages a plus.
