Job Summary

The Albany Medical Center seeks a highly skilled Clinical Nuclear Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide advanced nuclear pharmaceutical care services and contribute unique expertise in nuclear medicine, medication safety, therapeutics, education, and medication preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a recognized leader in pharmaceutical care of patients in nuclear medicine, providing expert guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Develop and expand clinical nuclear pharmacy practice in assigned areas and other areas within the medical center, driving innovation and excellence in patient care.
  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in assigned areas and other areas within the medical center, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Serve as a critical link between the pharmacy and other care providers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Actively develop the knowledge of all pharmacy staff to improve the care of patients at the medical center, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Actively promote improved pharmaceutical care services to patients, ensuring that they receive the highest quality care.
  • Function as an integral part of multi-disciplinary care teams, working collaboratively to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Actively identify and resolve complex patient care issues, providing expert solutions and guidance.
  • Establish local recognition for expertise in providing pharmaceutical care in the nuclear medicine setting, promoting the medical center's reputation for excellence.
  • Coordinate and participate in research involving patients at the medical center, driving innovation and advancing the field of nuclear medicine.
  • Participate effectively in all appropriate committees and quality improvement teams, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care.
  • Actively promote medication safety, ensuring that patients receive safe and effective care.
  • Promote rational and cost-effective use of medications, optimizing patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
  • Provide pharmaceutical care to all types and ages of patients cared for at the medical center, ensuring that their unique needs are met.
  • Effectively perform medication order and drug therapy review, leading to improved patient outcomes and enhanced quality of care.
  • Prepare and dispense medications when necessary, ensuring that patients receive the right medication at the right time.
  • Provide drug information, education, and counseling to patients and healthcare providers, promoting informed decision-making and optimal patient care.
  • Monitor patient drug therapy, identifying potential issues and providing expert guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with other caregivers, patients, and significant others to optimize pharmaceutical care, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Supervise and direct support personnel, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Participate in training and development of staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Provide professional leadership to the department, center, and community, promoting excellence and innovation in patient care.
  • Routinely work with management and others to improve pharmaceutical care and services, driving continuous quality improvement and excellence.
