Job Summary

New River Electrical Corporation is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing contract documents to develop detailed estimates for electrical transmission line projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans and specifications to confirm complete scope and identify potential risks.
  • Participate in customer meetings and site visits to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements and site challenges.
  • Develop and manage estimates for electrical transmission line projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Collaborate with customers, contractors, vendors, and operations employees to ensure accurate and timely bid information.
  • Prepare and submit professional bid proposals and supporting documentation.
  • Support project managers during the pre-construction phase of projects.
  • Assist senior estimators on large project estimates.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of electrical estimating experience in an industrial environment, or a minimum of 5 years of field supervision or relevant experience.
  • Strong mathematical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Ability to perform conceptual estimates based on specifications.
  • General understanding of MS Office, with the ability to become proficient in the use of Excel.
  • Ability to compose complex proposals, technical documents, and formal letters.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • General understanding of electrical trade and general construction.
  • Ability to understand construction drawings and contract documents.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Travel and Physical Demands

Occasional limited travel may be required for off-site meetings, events, or other business matters. The physical demands of this role include sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
