Job Summary

As a skilled Vocational Nursing Specialist, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals residing in a psychiatric hospital with complex medical, mental health, and behavioral health issues. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advanced nursing care and support to individuals with complex medical, mental health, and behavioral health issues.
• Collect and process lab specimens and perform health screenings as needed.
• Instruct direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support the individual's medical needs.
• Perform technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by facility and state regulations.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Provide on-the-job training and instruction to new LVNs and direct care staff as needed.

Requirements:

• Active unencumbered LVN Texas state license.
• Minimum of two years of current LVN Psychiatry experience.
• Graduate from a fully accredited LVN program.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Strong technical skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
