Position Overview

The Moorings Park Institute Incorporated is seeking dedicated Personal Care Assistants. The role of the Personal Care Assistant (PCA) involves delivering essential personal care services to designated clients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being while promoting independence in a secure setting. Adherence to the established policies and procedures of the organization, along with compliance with State and Federal regulations, is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts personal care tasks as outlined in a written directive from a qualified healthcare professional, which may include assisting clients with hygiene, mobility, meal consumption, dressing, and grooming.
  • Facilitates adequate nutrition for clients by preparing meals and providing necessary assistance, while also encouraging hydration.
  • Supports clients in managing bowel and bladder needs, including incontinence care as required, and collecting specimens as instructed by healthcare providers.
  • Upholds client dignity by respecting privacy, knocking before entering rooms, and addressing clients appropriately.
  • Demonstrates respect for the property of clients, the facility, and fellow staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • Availability to work during emergencies or natural disasters may be required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide in Florida is required.
  • Successful completion of a written competency assessment with a minimum score of 80% and a skills competency evaluation with no errors is mandatory.
  • A valid Florida driver's license and proof of insurance are necessary.
