Job Description:

The Multisensory Dyslexia Instruction Specialist at International Leadership of Texas is responsible for providing evidence-based, multisensory structured literacy instruction for students with dyslexia.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Instruction
    • Participate in dyslexia screening and assessment initiatives.
    • Implement the ILTexas dyslexia curriculum programs with fidelity.
    • Provide evidence-based, multisensory structured literacy instruction for students with dyslexia.
    • Contribute to and attend Section 504 meetings and Individualized Education Program meetings.
    • Monitor and respond to student progress.
    • Utilize the critical evidence based components of dyslexia instruction as outlined in the state Dyslexia Handbook.
  • Classroom Management
    • Create and maintain a safe classroom conducive to academic, social, and emotional growth.
    • Maintain classroom discipline through the ILTexas student code of conduct.
    • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans with fidelity.
    • Maintain all records in accordance to Federal, State, and Local policy and procedure.
  • Compliance
    • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy.
    • Comply with all charter and campus routines and regulations.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Other
    • Maintain required professional certifications, licenses, and/or enforcements.
    • Comply with credentialing programs and requirements.
    • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This position requires a strong understanding of the Reading Process and Multisensory Dyslexia Intervention, as well as knowledge of the Section 504 Process and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
