Service Designer - Fire Protection

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Designer - Fire Protection to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing fire protection systems for various projects, including industrial, commercial, and residential settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire protection design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design fire protection systems for various projects, including industrial, commercial, and residential settings.
  • Perform layout using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and create hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.
  • Identify building construction types and hazards, and select appropriate protection measures.
  • Coordinate work with other trades on non-complex projects.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including cutting pipe and selecting materials.
  • Conduct field surveys to obtain dimensions and information.
  • Meet industry quality standards in producing drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material submittals.
  • Develop and implement project budgets and schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in fire protection design required.
  • Engineering background preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and stock listing programs required.
  • NICET certification preferred.
