Role Overview
As a Project Engineer in our Civil Infrastructure division, you will play a crucial role in our team. Here’s how you will contribute:

  • Contract Management: Maintain relationships with selected trade partners and oversee certain subcontract administration tasks, including defining work scope, addressing inquiries, and monitoring progress.
  • Change Management: Engage in the change management process, which includes pricing, processing, and evaluating cost and schedule impacts prior to review.
  • Document Control: Manage project documentation and procedures, coordinating RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals while maintaining as-built drawings.
  • Design Collaboration: Work closely with the project team lead to supervise design, ensuring timely responses to the submittal schedule.
  • Compliance Reviews: Participate in reviewing trade partners' submissions for adherence to scope and design documentation before forwarding for design review.
  • Performance Management: Collaborate with the project manager and superintendent to manage and report on overall project performance concerning site health, safety, cost management, schedule, and quality.
  • Claims and Estimates: Prepare and oversee progress claims and estimates.
  • Material Coordination: Track and manage inventory of materials and equipment, expediting orders as necessary.
  • Site Inspections: Assist with site inspections to address constructability and coordination issues, ensuring compliance with functionality, regulatory requirements, and codes.
  • Project Closeout: Engage in overall project closeout activities, including document archiving, maintenance manuals, and warranty work.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a construction operational role.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A solid understanding of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, and project health and safety standards.
  • The ability to apply basic engineering and problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, with the capability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with internal operational systems, along with a willingness to adopt new technologies.
