Qualifications
  • Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program with a clinical externship is essential; the program must include pharmacology and medication administration. Online-only medical assistant programs are not acceptable. Certification or registry must be obtained within six months of employment, with necessary educational agreements signed. Acceptable certifications/registries include CMA (AAMA), CCMA (NHA), RMA (AMT), NHCWA, NCCT, NAHP, or RMA (ARMA). Alternative eligibility criteria for various exam certifications are also available. Applicants may qualify if they are nursing school graduates with relevant clinical and administrative experience.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: A current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification is required.
  • Additional Skills: Proven ability to complete both generic and department-specific skills validation and competency assessments.
