Your Role as an Aerospace Drafter:
- Design & Development: Utilize 3D Solid Modeling CAD software to create mechanical designs for new products and process drawings for manufacturing. Analyze designs for tolerance stack-up, manufacturability, compliance with specifications, and customer requirements, providing recommendations when necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Thoroughly check drawings before approval to ensure accuracy and adherence to current practices. Review existing designs and update them as needed to meet evolving customer, industry, and manufacturing standards.
- Product Innovation: Contribute to the conceptual design engineering of new products and special projects. Actively participate in improving existing products and manufacturing methods to fulfill customer demands.
- Engineering Support: Act as a technical consultant to the manufacturing team, addressing issues related to the production of our products. Establish new products within the MRP AS400 system and create associated Bill-of-Materials.
- Documentation & Process Improvement: Review and clarify marking instructions at issuance or Purchase Order. Continuously update departmental procedures as required.
Your Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, Computer Aided Design, or a related engineering field, or 3+ years of experience in design drafting, mechanical design, manufacturing methods, or a related engineering field.
- Proficiency in drafting methods, print generation/checking, and issuance.
- Experience working with bearings is highly advantageous.
