The Role:

As a Construction Estimator and Sales Professional, you will play a critical role in estimating and selling construction materials to customers. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Estimating and Measuring: Collaborate with customers to understand project requirements, assess and calculate required materials, and provide accurate cost estimates.
  • Sales and Customer Interaction: Offer excellent customer service by listening carefully to customer needs, addressing inquiries, and clarifying any questions regarding materials, pricing, and project details.
  • Product Knowledge and Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest products in the store, including tools, building materials, and hardware, and explain their features and benefits to customers.
  • Quote Preparation and Teamwork: Create clear and detailed quotes for customers, work collaboratively with teammates to ensure timely delivery, and coordinate with suppliers to secure best prices and guarantee product availability.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; extra education in construction or estimation is a plus
  • Experience in retail hardware sales or construction is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with construction materials and estimation
  • Able to use basic estimation tools, software, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong math and organizational skills
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Ability to lift up to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs with assistance, handle large odd-shaped items, and stock items in overhead areas
  • Requires frequent standing and walking
  • Must be able to work Saturdays and the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business needs
