Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Religious Leader to provide spiritual guidance and support to inmates in a correctional facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in Islamic religious studies and be able to lead worship services and deliver sermons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide spiritual development and guidance to inmates
  • Lead Islamic worship services and deliver sermons
  • Conduct religious services and provide religious materials
  • Ensure the constitutional rights of prisoners are upheld regarding religious services and activities
  • Serve as liaison between the religious community and the facility
  • Provide training for volunteers and staff
  • Minister to the inmate population
  • Provide stress debriefing to inmates and staff
  • Facilitate family and inmate communication
  • Submit monthly reports of activities conducted
  • Represent the facility at assigned special functions
Requirements
  • Two years of ministerial experience in the Islamic religion
  • Bachelor's degree in Islamic religious studies or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work in a prison environment
  • Ability to work shift, evening, and on weekends as required
  • Pass NCIC background check
  • Pass drug test and TB screening
Special Requirements

The successful candidate must be able to function in a prison environment and work shift, evening, and on weekends as required. A background check and drug test will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
