Job Summary

The University Student Union at California State University, Northridge is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Student Reservations Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Reservations & Event Services team, you will be responsible for coordinating room reservations, event logistics, and providing exceptional customer service to our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events, including room reservations, layouts, and event needs
  • Coordinate with USU staff, student volunteers, university departments, faculty, and clubs to ensure seamless event execution
  • Prepare contracts and agreements according to USU policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with USU staff, student volunteers, and university departments to support event planning and execution
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our campus community, including responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing information on USU events and services
  • Assist with cash reconciliation, generating cash receipts, and depositing cash and cash equivalents into deposit safe
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled CSUN student
  • Previous related experience and/or specialized education preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to use modern office equipment, including computer, telephone, and printer with copying and scanning capabilities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher (desired)
  • Ability to work under time restraints, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing work environment
Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in a temperature-controlled office environment, as well as outdoors in varying weather conditions. Daily contact with members of the campus community, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, and guests, is required. Must possess an ability and willingness to work some weekends, academic interim, and break periods as needed.
