Our Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Vehicle Mechanical Engineer to join our Vehicle Engineering Practice in Natick, MA. In this role, you will work as part of a team to support existing consulting projects that involve the analysis of transportation accidents, mechanical failures, and the design of consumer and industrial products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from initiation to completion
  • Communicate project updates to team members, clients, and administrative staff
  • Ensure Exponent meets deadlines and produces exceptional work products
  • Identify business development opportunities
  • Set up and execute test programs, including full-scale vehicle tests and component or control systems evaluations
  • Develop specialized expertise in automotive technology or analysis and reconstruction of transportation accidents
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (or M.S. and 2 years of experience) and knowledge of automotive systems
  • Field and/or lab measurement experience with good hands-on skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of dynamics, mechanical design, and 3D CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Rhino3D preferred)
  • P.E. license or willingness to obtain
  • Versatile, team-oriented, willing to work overtime and travel when required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Clear written communication and technical writing skills
