Position Title: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in dietetics, nutrition, home economics (food), or a closely related discipline. A minimum of three years of professional experience in dietetics is required, including at least one year as a registered dietitian. Additional graduate coursework in relevant fields may be considered in lieu of one year of the required experience.

Licensure: Candidates must hold a valid license as a Registered Dietitian.

Role Summary: Under general supervision, the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist will engage in professional dietetic practices. Responsibilities include the planning of therapeutic diets and menus for healthcare facilities, as well as administering medical nutrition therapy aimed at preventing and managing various health conditions. The role involves consulting with medical and nursing personnel, evaluating data from medical records (including diagnoses, nutrition history, food intake logs, anthropometric measurements, and lab results), and providing recommendations to enhance or maintain nutritional health.

The Registered Dietitian will assess nutritional requirements, dietary plans, and existing medical treatments to create and implement comprehensive nutrition care strategies, offering nutritional counseling as needed. Responsibilities also include calculating weight ranges, body mass index (BMI), and daily nutritional needs (such as caloric intake, proteins, fluids, and essential nutrients) to establish effective nutrition care plans. The dietitian will review the caloric and nutrient profiles of foods within individual and facility menus to identify necessary adjustments to meet the therapeutic needs of clients.
