Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment and Care
- Conduct thorough physical examinations, obtain patient histories, and assess health status to diagnose and manage health conditions.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on evidence-based guidelines.
- Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, X-rays, and other imaging studies.
- Prescribe medications and provide patient education on medication use, side effects, and potential interactions.
- Patient Education and Support
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications.
- Coordination of Care
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
- Record Keeping and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements, clinical guidelines, and office policies.
- Continuous Quality Improvement
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient care audits, and professional development opportunities to enhance the quality of care provided.
- Education and Licensure
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in [State].
- Certification and Experience
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or other relevant certification as per specialty.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a primary care or similar clinical setting preferred.
- Skills and Attributes
- Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and adaptable to changing clinical environments.
- Environment and Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physical assessments, including lifting and positioning patients as needed.
- Clinic setting with standard office hours. May include occasional evenings or weekends based on patient needs and office policies.
