Lifeguard - Aquatic Facility Professional

As a Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of aquatic facility users by preventing accidents, providing water safety education, and executing professional lifesaving services to swimmers in need. You will also be responsible for maintaining the swimming pool and facility.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor swimmers to determine if emergency life-saving services are needed, rescue distressed swimmers, and provide CPR/AED as needed.
- Prevent injuries by monitoring the facility and facility use, providing water safety education, and monitoring water quality.
- Maintain a high level of skill and emergency rescue readiness through drills, in-service training, and physical conditioning.
- Maintain discipline at the facility, ensure that safety rules and regulations are followed, report problems to supervisor, and assist with the removal of patrons causing disturbances or an unsafe environment.
- Provide basic first aid, monitor first aid supplies, restock first aid cabinets, and complete injury/accident reports.
- Provide customer service, answer questions, and provide information to visitors, assist the public when clearing pools.
- Provide swim instruction through the Swim Central initiative, responsible for adjusting curriculum to meet individual student learning needs and end-of-program assessment, instruct aquatic exercise classes, and assist with the development and implementation of program curriculum.
- Set up facility for daily use, party rentals, and special events.
- Inspect operational and rescue equipment to ensure that it is in appropriate condition, inspect aquatic facility for possible safety problems, and report any findings to supervisor.
- Perform facility maintenance and minor repair duties such as waxing slides, vacuuming pool, cleaning pool tiles, cleaning restrooms, painting, and other cleaning and repair duties as assigned, report facility maintenance concerns to supervisor.
- Monitor water quality through water testing, record results, and notify the on-deck supervisor if results are outside of Health Department standards.
- Must be sixteen (16) years of age.
- Fingerprinting Required.
- LICENSES/CERTIFICATES: Must possess and maintain a current Lifeguard certification, Must possess and maintain current CPR, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid certification.
Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications. Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County's Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
