Histotechnologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Histotechnologist to join our team at K.A. Recruiting. As a Histotechnologist, you will play a critical role in preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination and patient diagnosis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for exercising independent judgment in dealing with procedural and technical problems, examining slides and/or blocks to ensure tissue preparation meets laboratory requirements, and training or directing Laboratory Assistants and Histology Technicians.

• Prepare sections of human tissue for microscopic examination and patient diagnosis, using techniques to gross, embed, section, stain, and mount tissue.
• Perform recuts and additional stains, including special and immunohistochemistry stains, as requested by a Pathologist.
• Operate computerized laboratory equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate tissue specimens.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, track routine maintenance and quality controls, and dispose of hazardous chemical waste per regulatory guidelines.
• File, retrieve, and distribute blocks, slides, and pathology reports, and operate, clean, and sterilize laboratory equipment and glassware.

• Bachelor's degree
• ASCP certification
• Prior lab experience and knowledge
