We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist I to join our team at Laboratoire Guerbet. As a key member of our pharmaceutical laboratory, you will be responsible for conducting biological assays of clinical and/or commercial product raw materials, production in-process samples, finished product, environmental monitoring samples, process & cleaning validation samples, and components.

1. Conduct biological assays of various samples, including raw materials, production intermediate and bulk samples, finished product, environmental monitoring samples, process & cleaning validation samples, package samples, and components.
2. Perform laboratory assays, including particulate testing, growth promotion of media, sterility testing, raw material testing, bioburden, membrane filtration, plate reading, endotoxin testing, and environmental monitoring.
3. Work in a team environment to support internal and external customer microbiology testing services.
4. Take initiative and seek out additional assignments.
5. Identify basic technical issues, atypical or out-of-specifications test results, instrument malfunctions, and methodology problems and initiate the investigation process.
6. Be accountable for the accuracy and validity of testing results.
7. Perform mathematical calculations, interpret results, and record observations.
8. Maintain all related records, prepare and record media, buffers, and reagents, etc., and maintain the work area in a neat and orderly manner.
9. Assist in coordinating the testing activities of the group.
10. Assist in maintaining inventory and reconciliation of laboratory supplies and assist in protocol execution when needed.

• A BS or BA in a biological science related major with 0-3 year's pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory experience is required/preferred.
• Good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills are preferred. The ability to use a computer for data analysis, perform multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and precision, and follow directions is essential.
• Previous experience in a lab setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, material safety, working knowledge of cGMPs, GLPs, and FDA requirements is necessary. The candidate should be self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, and team-oriented.
