Meat Department Associate

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Clerk to join our team at Fiesta Mart LLC. As a Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe meat department, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring that our meat display cases are well-stocked and visually appealing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service at the counter and on the sales floor, engaging with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
- Accurately weigh, wrap, and label meat products using our scale system, ensuring that all products are properly labeled and stored.
- Follow standard operating procedures for code dating, packaging, merchandising, storage, pulls, and damages, maintaining a high level of quality and safety in our meat department.
- Assist in the preparation of meat products, including chicken and ground products, and ensure that all products are handled and stored properly.
- Collect and dispose of cardboard, plastic, and paper waste in the compactor, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Clean and sanitize all floors, equipment, and surfaces, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and safety in our meat department.
- Organize coolers and freezers to ensure sanitary conditions, and maintain a clean and organized display case.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure that job assignments are completed efficiently and effectively.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Perform price changes and make signs as needed, ensuring that all prices are accurate and up-to-date.
- Maintain a clean and organized display case, cooler, and freezer, and ensure that all products are properly stored and displayed.
- Clean and maintain the delivery and work area, ensuring that all equipment and surfaces are clean and safe.
- Notify management of any associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs, or property defacement, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
- Present a favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene, and business attitude, representing Fiesta Mart LLC in a positive and professional manner.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on new challenges, and be able to interact effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Must be able to work with a sense of urgency to complete job tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency.
- Must be neat in appearance, with a pleasant and outgoing personality, and be able to follow verbal directions effectively.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, and be able to lift up to 80 pounds, push and pull up to 300 pounds, and bend frequently.
- Must be able to climb up to 8 feet, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and smell occasionally.
- Must be able to see, hear, and reach waist/overhead level continuously.
Safety Risk Factors:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with loud noise, twisting of back and neck, and slippery or cluttered floor surfaces frequently.
- Must be able to work with hazardous equipment, and contact with sharp objects continuously.
- Must be able to work in a cold and wet/humidity environment, and be able to handle varied and irregular schedules.
Working Environment:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of activity and noise.
