About the Job

The Optician Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences by providing top-notch service and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients warmly and make them feel at ease
  • Explain the process in a transparent and clear manner
  • Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that meet their needs and budget
  • Suggest improvements and recommend solutions to problems
  • Work collaboratively with other employees to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Anticipate and resolve problems before they occur
  • Operate the Point of Sale terminal with accuracy and attention to detail
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Participation in a sanctioned Optician Apprenticeship Program
  • Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and teamwork
  • Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and change
