Karate Instructor

At the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Karate Instructor to join our team. The Karate Instructor will provide instruction and leadership for karate activities for school-age children. This position requires a strong background in karate, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to create a safe and engaging learning environment.

• Provide high-quality karate instruction to students of various skill levels.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that promote physical fitness, discipline, and self-confidence.
• Maintain a safe and organized learning environment, ensuring the well-being of all students.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Participate in special events and activities related to karate and recreation.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Recognized black-belt in karate.
• Current state-approved CPR/AED certification.
• YMCA certification as offered and required for program area.
• Two years or more of experience participating in or teaching karate.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and lead participants in the field of karate.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, parents, volunteers, and staff.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Knowledge of how to instruct karate, including rules and techniques.
• High degree of Human Relations Skills.
• Pass the State of Georgia criminal background check.
• Wear appropriate uniform while instructing students.
• Maintain accurate records and registration for each class.
