Vighter is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and in proper working order.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and sterile materials as required.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and respond promptly during the surgical procedure.
- Maintain a sterile environment and monitor aseptic techniques.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of sharps and bio-hazardous materials.
- Assist with the preparation and positioning of patients for surgery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of operative procedures, supplies used, and patient information.
- Collaborate with the OR team to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care.
- Clean and restock the operating room following surgery and ensure that equipment is properly maintained.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow all safety protocols.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Has completed a qualifying course of study as an operating room technician.
- Has been actively performing both scrubs and circulating functions within the operating room.
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and aseptic procedures.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- Has documented training and skills verification.
