A Registered Nurse specializing in post-surgical care is tasked with delivering comprehensive patient care through systematic assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role includes the responsibility of prescribing, delegating, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating patient education as well as the activities of support nursing staff, all while upholding the standards of professional nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
A. Education and Skills:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent program.
B. Experience:
Preferred minimum of six (6) months of nursing experience.
C. Licenses and Certifications:
Current nursing license in the State of Texas.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Medication Competence and Computer Competence within specified timeframes post-employment.
Completion of an Arrhythmia Recognition Course if ACLS Certification is not current.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification within the required timeframe.
Completion of Critical Care classes and examinations within the designated period.
Phlebotomy/Point of Care Competency within four (4) weeks of employment.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six (6) months of employment.
