Overview

The Cardiology Clinic Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing care as delegated according to the policies, procedures, and standards of Conway Regional.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Physician/Nurse Practitioner with patient assessment, examination, and procedures.
  • Enters all necessary patient information in computer.
  • Makes and returns phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Communicates lab results to patient by either mail or telephone within 48 hours.
  • Performs EKGs.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care.
  • Maintains current CPR certification and license at all times.
  • Works with Infection Control nurse, safety specialist, etc., to maintain appropriate clinic environment.
  • Utilizes effective interpersonal skills with patients, physicians, and other clinic staff.
  • Attends in-services and seminars as requested by Clinic supervisor.
  • Performs other allowable duties as assigned by Clinic Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • MA Diploma preferred
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Ability to Multi task and handle busy and stressful situations
  • Adhere to dress code, conduct and attendance polices of Medical Center
