Position Summary:
This role is responsible for overseeing project engineering management for medium to large-scale initiatives, diagnosing potential mechanical issues, and proposing enhancements to optimize plant efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and implement capital projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project timelines.
2. Develop and manage project schedules and budgets effectively.
3. Identify opportunities for productivity and cost improvements, working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to execute enhancements.
4. Monitor key performance indicators to improve plant operations and uncover additional enhancement opportunities.
5. Document processes and share best practices for continuous improvement.
6. Ensure proper engineering practices are followed during plant upgrades and equipment installations.
7. Prepare mechanical equipment specifications for plant modifications and repairs.
8. Lead multidisciplinary projects with budgets up to $10 million, with experience in larger projects being advantageous.
9. Oversee third-party engineering, fabrication, and installation contractors.
10. Scope, estimate, design, schedule, and execute assigned projects.
11. Provide engineering support for the Engineering and Maintenance Departments as needed.
12. Inspect mechanical equipment during scheduled outages to ensure operational efficiency and initiate necessary actions.
13. Maintain effective communication with contractors and regulatory agencies.
14. Participate in contract negotiations related to project work.
15. Prepare reports and maintain necessary departmental documentation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required, with a preference for Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degrees. Civil, Electrical, or Construction Management degrees with relevant experience will also be considered.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading capital project development and execution is essential.
- Familiarity with fixed and rotating equipment is required.
- Experience in managing projects involving compressors, cooling towers, heat exchangers, electrical substations, and pressure vessels is preferred.
- Proven track record of leading projects from initial engineering through execution and startup phases.
- Experience managing external engineering consultants during project development.
- Strong management and supervisory skills, particularly in contract negotiations for construction projects.
- Specific knowledge of fertilizer plant operations is preferred but not mandatory.
