Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Catalina Island Medical Center. As a CLS, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform procedures including calibration of instruments, assessment of equipment accuracy, and determination of test accuracy.
  • Read and interpret test results to identify departures from normal values.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Assist in training and mentoring laboratory staff as needed.
  • Perform phlebotomy on out-patients or in-patients as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
  • Licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist in the State of California.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a hospital setting as a practicing Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Driver's License.
  • Specimen shipping and handling certification.
