Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Specialist to join our team at FDIHB. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting fitness consultations, providing exercise education, and collaborating with healthcare providers to promote health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fitness consultations and information presentation sessions for patients with low and moderate-high risk factors
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, prioritizing safety
  • Provide up-to-date exercise education to patients, employees, and community members
  • Retrieve and review patient medical, laboratory, and pharmacy history using the Electronic Health Record
  • Conduct clinical exercise prescription, fitness assessments, and patient consultation
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop exercise plans
  • Plan and facilitate group activities and training for clients, staff, and community members
  • Communicate effectively with medical health providers regarding patient changes and referrals
  • Participate in routine records maintenance and quality monitoring reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification
  • American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or other NCCA accredited Personal Training Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrolled member of the Navajo Nation or other federally-recognized Indian tribe
