Equipment Associate Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Equipment Associate to join our team at United Rentals. As an Equipment Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our portable sanitation equipment is safe, clean, and in good working order.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine checks on portable sanitation equipment to ensure it is safe and in good working order.
  • Inspect, wash, repair, and store equipment as needed.
  • Perform general facility maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Load and unload units, either manually or with a forklift as required.
  • Use hand tools, such as drills and rivet tools, as needed.
  • Ensure supplies are onsite and organized.
  • Verify that trucks are accurately loaded for the next day with all units cleaned and repaired to standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized yard.
  • Communicate accurate inventory counts to Dispatch.
  • Quality check on all units and equipment, verifying rent ready status prior to loading.
  • Excellent housekeeping of shop, yard, and facility.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Diligent attention to safety.
  • General knowledge of yard equipment and the loading/unloading of trucks.
  • Industry experience is a plus, but not required (training is provided on products & services).
  • Superior customer service and positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to work effectively in all weather conditions.
