We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Healthcare Operations Specialist to join our team at Physician Affiliate Group of New York. The successful candidate will provide general support to our site office and providers, managing employee concerns and serving as an outward-facing part of our HR Department.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Training
- Manage compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory trainings, continuing education, annual health assessments, and work evaluations.
- Ensure employee records are current and meet The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and New York Department of Health (NYDOH) standards.
- Onboarding and Credentialing
- Act as the primary point of contact for all credentialing and onboarding.
- Manage multiple new providers' progress throughout the credentialing process.
- Track all new hires, ensuring onboarding is smooth and thoroughly reviewed.
- Relationship Building and Communication
- Maintain relationships with providers and staff by checking in periodically to keep them informed and engaged.
- Lead and facilitate recurring new hire orientation and other activities.
- HRIS and Transaction Management
- Manage all HRIS transactions in a timely fashion.
- Make change requests ensuring accuracy and follow up with approvers for escalated issues.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain successful relationships with site leadership, Medical Staff Office (MSO), Occupational Health Services (OHS), H+H Human Resources Partners, Chiefs/Chairs, and other stakeholders.
- Attend site committee meetings when necessary.
- Labor Relations and Inquiries
- Handle routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements.
- Refer complex matters to the Labor and Employee Relations team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and/or experience, plus three years of related experience in the healthcare setting.
- HR Certification preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Consistently display the highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
